It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you plan your arrival into the city to avoid rush hour. That means arriving before 4 pm at the VERY latest, or after 7 pm, if at all possible. Earlier is better than later, especially on a weekend. Better yet, come Thursday night and make a long weekend out of it. If you come early, don’t worry – you can stay busy until the program stars with a free private tour of a Field Museum exhibit (see below), explore the Museum Campus area, or head north toward Navy Pier or shopping on Michigan Avenue (see map).

Two-hour metered street parking
All-day overnight parking at the UIC Marriott is $28/day
Daytime parking at UIC Paulina Street parking garage maxes out for the day at $12.25, no overnight allowed – garage is just past the College of Dentistry and on the left.
Parking @ the Field Musuem of Natural History:
You will need to enter the museum at the WEST entrance, directly across from Lake Shore Drive.
I strongly recommend taking a taxi to the Field Museum - easier and probably cheaper in the long run than parking. However, if you do plan on driving:
"Both garages, as well as the Adler Planetarium parking lot, can be easily accessed via the 18th Street exit from Lake Shore Drive. Exit on 18th Street and follow 18th Street east to Museum Campus Drive and then Museum Campus Drive north to the garage entrance. Entrance to the North Garage is off Museum Campus Drive."
